Ours is the kind of story that feels both long and short woven together over years, even when we didn’t realize it.

Growing up as the youngest in our families meant we were always being pulled into whatever our older sisters were doing. In other words, we were forced to be friends from the start. From Friday night lights at Scots games, to running up and down Hyer Street, to learning how to ski on family trips in Taos, to carpooling every morning to Bradfield Elementary, we spent much of our childhood side by side.

As we got older, life pulled us in different directions. Truett went to the University of Texas (bleh), while Caroline headed to the University of Oklahoma, a school that, ironically, Truett Eckeberger was once its biggest fan growing up. Boomer.

Even as our paths went separate ways, our families stayed close. Our parents shared countless lake trips, and maybe a few quiet hopes about what might be someday.

Then came Christmas 2023.

Our moms, Elizabeth and Lucy, decided to plan a “Christmas party for old times’ sake.” The idea was simple: gather everyone to catch up, play ping pong, and celebrate the holidays. But of course… they had a little more in mind.

And just like that, their plan worked!

We reconnected that night and felt an instant, familiar spark. Our first dates felt like slipping back into something easy and comforting, like picking up an old friendship right where it left off.

And the rest, well… here we are turning all those shared childhood memories into the start of a life together.
